Why IKANDY exists

Art should move.

Music never sits still. Visual art shouldn't have to either.

IKANDY is a playground for music-reactive art: a place to watch it, make it, publish it, and perform it. It gives listeners a beautiful first frame, creators a way in, and artists a path to the people putting visuals on screens.

THE GAP TWO WORLDS, ONE SCREEN

The artist and the stage rarely share a door.

Shader artists make extraordinary living images. DJs, VJs, streamers, and listeners need extraordinary images that can live with sound. The work exists. The audience exists. They just tend to meet through formats, folders, and tools that were never designed to introduce them.

IKANDY is the common room.A creator can bring an idea or original shader. The engine gives it music, light, controls, and places to go. The person watching or performing it can still see who made it.

THE PLAYGROUND FOLLOW THE SIGNAL

Watch it. Make it. Send it somewhere.

The larger idea is a loop, not a feature list. Choose any point below to see where you enter.

Music is the controller.

Start with whatever is playing. IKANDY listens to the sound you choose and gives every live scene something to answer: the weight of the low end, the shape of the mids, the brightness of the top, and the changing energy of the room.

THE SHAPE WHY IT FEELS LIKE A GAME

A world, not a slideshow.

Games are good at making complicated systems feel immediate. An input matters now. A world redraws now. You can enter, move, change something, and feel the response without waiting for an export.

IKANDY borrows that discipline for visual art. The artwork stays alive on the GPU, the music keeps talking to it, and the controls remain in reach. You do not merely watch a file. You play the conditions around it.

THE CRAFT TECHNOLOGY IN SERVICE OF THE IMAGE

The technology is not the idea. What it gives the art is.

Technical language matters only when it changes what someone can feel. HDR rendering matters because light can feel luminous. Ray marching matters because impossible spaces can exist. WebGPU matters because thousands of moving parts can remain alive instead of being baked into a clip.

Light

HDR range, bloom, god rays

Highlights glow, beams hold shape, and a flat image can feel staged inside atmosphere.

Space

Ray-marched worlds and 3D forms

Scenes can suggest depth, material, scale, and places that could not exist in a camera.

Motion

WebGPU particles, fluids, feedback

Large systems can flow, gather, scatter, and keep changing while the music plays.

Finish

Color, grain, vignette, chromatic detail

Different engines and sources can arrive with a deliberate final character instead of looking unfinished.

Response

Music-aware controls

The sound does more than shake the picture. It can shape emphasis, light, energy, and the way a scene is performed.

THE PEOPLE DIFFERENT HANDS, ONE STAGE

You do not need the same skills to belong here.

People with an idea

Start with a direction.

Guided AI can turn a vibe into live candidates you choose, refine, and save. You do not have to begin by learning shader code. AI is optional and uses a supported provider account you connect.

Arrive with your name attached.

Bring compatible original GLSL or WGSL work, connect your Shadertoy account for supported imports, and choose where your artist profile points. Your work remains yours; IKANDY gives it another place to be experienced.

DJs, VJs, streamers

Find it, shape it, perform it.

Discover scenes, make them answer the room, and send the result to a monitor, a stream, another visual tool, or a stage. The person performing the art can still find the person who made it.

The larger ambition
AI widens the door. It should not erase the artist.

AI is one way into the playground. Original artist work is another. The value comes from what people choose to keep, perform, share, and return to — with authorship still visible when the work travels.

Where this can go IKANDY launches as a visualizer, creator, and performance instrument. The long game includes artist-led collections released under separate agreements, giving exceptional creators a way to sell their strongest work without disappearing behind the software. That is a direction, not a launch promise.
