Who is out

Four cats, Fruitbat, Hobbes, Suki and Pixel, each with their own personality, and Cooper, a blue merle Aussie puppy. One cat at a time; Cooper can join whoever is out, or run solo.

Pick a companion

1. Middle-click anywhere, or press Q, to open the Shortcuts wheel of the Quick Access ring, then pick Pets. Shift plus right-click opens the same wheel for a mouse without a middle button.
2. Choose Off, Fruitbat, Hobbes, Suki, Pixel or Cooper. The choice persists.

Play with them

• Click a pet to say hello.
• Drag to carry. They always land on their feet.
• Double-click to feed a treat.
• Throw the ball for Cooper: throw, bounce, chase, retrieve, return. He will bring it back. Always.
• Wiggle the mouse near a cat and watch what happens.
• Each pet has ten dance styles keyed to the live tempo of your music, and its own show commentary.
• They walk across the whole screen, including the console bar.

On every output

Pets live on the show itself, so mirrors, recordings, Spout, NDI and the wallpaper all see them, at native resolution on 4K output. They stay out when you hide the UI, because Hide UI clears the controls, not the show. Slingshot's clean stage puts them away.

Cost

Having a pet out is cheap: the pet layer is capped at 30 frames per second and uploads only the region it draws. If frames matter more than company, choose Off.
